"Lana told you about my nocturnal adventure, didn't she?"

I was so worried, Lex.

"I could see I'd spooked her, and that usually sends her running to you."

Always interfering, coming between us.

"Are you okay?"

Please be okay.

"I haven't lost my mind, Clark, if that's what you mean."

"You were on a ledge, yelling Julian's name. You could have killed yourself."

And I'd have been lost...

"When I found you asleep in the middle of Route 8 last year, I don't remember questioning your mental health."

No, don't you remember? You took me back to your place because I begged you, and we fucked until dawn.

"I hadn't just spent seven weeks at Belle Reve."

Didn't mean it to sound that way, God, Lex.

"I can take care of myself."

No, Lex, please. I love you. Doesn't seem to mean anything to you, now.

Not for awhile, now, thanks to you.

"I haven't lost my mind, Clark, if that's what you mean."

Maybe I'm more sane than I've ever been.

"You were on a ledge, yelling Julian's name. You could have killed yourself."

Wish I had.

Hurts like hell to remember what happened afterward. Sweet, so sweet. But obviously over now. Look at us.

"I hadn't just spent seven weeks at Belle Reve."

I'd even sacrifice remembering those seven weeks just to hold onto that memory, but now--there's no point.

"I can take care of myself."

And I will.
