Alison Campbell discovered Superman comic books at summer camp at the age of 10. Her first acquisition was issue Jimmy Olsen, number 71, September, 1963. And, though most of her collection has disappeared over the years, she managed to hold onto this one.

Having remained a Superman fan throughout the years, she made a special point of tuning in to the WB on October 16, 2001, for the first episode of Smallville. It took only a few episodes before she was hooked.

Though she has enjoyed writing all her life, it wasn’t till Smallville came along that she was inspired to try her hand at writing fiction. Her first story was: “The Better Part of Wisdom,” which she began in February 2002 and posted in July of 2002. She thought that would be her one and only Smallville story, but…it didn’t quite turn out that way.

Alison is an Army spouse and the parent of two daughters. She is a native of Evansville, Indiana but spent much of her life in Michigan. Formerly a college English instructor, she is currently a librarian by profession. She holds a B.A degree in Liberal Arts from Central Michigan University, M.A. degrees in English from Purdue University and Michigan State University, and an M.S.L.S. from the University of Kentucky.
